If I told you about the darkness inside me
Would you still look at me like I’m the sun?
Or would you turn away in fear
And see me as someone you should shun?
If I shared with you my deepest scars
Would you hold my hand and understand?
Or would you see me as broken and flawed
And judge me with a heavy hand?
If I opened up about my fears and doubts
Would you listen with an open heart?
Or would you walk away and leave me alone
To face my demons in the dark?
If I revealed the secrets I hide
Would you stay by my side?
Or would you run for cover
And leave me to suffer and hide?
If I showed you the shadows in my soul
Would you see past the dark and gray?
Or would you only see the surface
And turn your back without a word to say?
For in this world of light and dark
We often judge by what we see
We forget that beneath the surface
Lies a story that’s waiting to be free
So if I told you about my darkness
Would you still see me as the sun?
Or would you be brave enough to see
That I am more than what meets the eye, my dear one.
For in the depths of my soul
Lies a beauty that can't be denied
And if you choose to see it
You'll find a friend in me, by your side.
So don't be afraid of my darkness
For it’s a part of who I am
And if you're willing to embrace it
Together we'll shine like the sun, forever and always.
