The Illicit Tale of The Sun and The Moon.

Noted Nest

Updated: May 9, 2024

The illicit tale of the Sun and the Moon.

Beginning from the shy peaks behind shadows

To the moment their eyes met,

The moon was soon drunk with the beauty of the sun.

Despite a million stars in the sky,

She wanted the only star she couldn't get.

Between longing glances in hidden evenings and early chirps in dusky mornings,

The moon glints with mischief as the sun blushes by.

The sea mirrors their banter in mirth

While the sky basks in their warm light,

But only the veiled stars knew of their fate

The fantasy that soon turned into an illicit tale of beauty and pain.

As they mourned and yearned for each other

All they could do was stare from afar.

They were forever lifetimes apart

Yet they still couldn't help but try.

For just one more moment,

For just one more glance,

But mayhem cued before they could merely touch each other,

only a brush of their light before the night sky issued,

Leaving an ache etched deep within the moon.

An unsaid promise was left among them.

A message of an unbidden goodbye.

But just when you thought it would end,

They began again.

Very good one Vaishali. You got me at "only star she couldnt get". The Sun does blush and turn into a beautiful shade when the moon is out. Keep writing more.. good luck.
