The Beautiful Secret That Faded

Noted Nest

By Ritika Garg

He came into my life like a rainbow after the storm and the sunlight on my cloudy days,

He already had me at his first Hello,

It was a strong magnetic connection which drew me towards him,

Irrespective of the fact how hard I try not to see him or not to talk to him,

My heart only wanders for him.

It was a mere coincidence that we started talking to each other,

And it started happening regularly in the night hours,

It was now a part of my day to talk to him and tell everything about my day, how I spent it and also listen to him about his day.

My whole nervous system used to calm down just by seeing his smiling face,

He slowly and gradually became my habit and everything with which I am attracted to,

Whenever I met him, I felt safe in his presence,

Even the smallest moment spent with him on call as well, feels like the best moment of my whole day.

He is like my favourite song at times which I want everyone to know,

And at times, I just want to keep him as my beautiful secret, unknown to this world,

He is my forever person with whom every day feels like a dream I never want to wake up from,

He is the puzzle piece of my life that makes me whole,

Because whenever I look at him, I see our future together.

Alas, no matter how hard I try to convince him, he still doesn’t love me,

Our last conversation was a turmoil because I had to go of him,

Because I had realized that if more I hold onto him, the things were get worsen only,

However the worst part starts now which is to unlove the person you love the most.

He’s disappeared from my life, leaving me with anxiety, questions, self-doubt and an unfillable void,

I don’t know if I could ever love someone the way I have loved him,

And in spite of all the trauma inside me, I am still waiting for the impossible to happen, a miracle to happen.
