Smile

“There’s a secret I should tell you,

your smile’s the prettiest I’ve ever seen.”

You said that with one yourself,

with all your heart could mean.

You watched me from the corner,

as my lips stretched across my face.

Delicately as though pouring droplets,

in a pretty flower vase.

You told me that my smiles,

are all you ever see.

And you said it rather gladly,

like that’s where you’d want to be.

I remember your secret,

but here’s mine to make it fair…

“This pretty smile you see,

only exists when you’re there.”
