Ponders Of Life

On a starry night , when the moon's gaze fell directly upon a  redheaded boy, Naksh, he was lost in his bubble gum of  thought that said “What is the meaning of my life ?”. He  looked towards the moon as if the stories of ‘Chanda Mama’  were actually true and his beloved ‘Chanda Mama’ would  actually give answers, in his innocence he waited for answers  but something that disrupted the thought was a hand from  behind that grabbed Naksh from his shoulders.  “Does Chanda mama reply from behind our backs?” he thought.

And as soon as he turned………

“Papa!!!!!!!!!!!”

“ Chanda mama was about to give me answers!!” Naksh  exclaimed, all disheartened.

“Give answers?..... What answers were you expecting my child  and about what?” the father asked dramatically. Naksh explained to his father about the crucial thought. His  father smiled , smiled at a pupil who was just eleven years

old, who cared of finishing his chores on time, break a leg on  the cricket ground and come back with his enormously glee  smile, who had a lot to think of, but thought of something that  most of adults like himself were unaware of.

‘WHAT IS THE MEANING OF OUR LIFE’.

Naksh’s father promised that he would let him know the  answer on Sunday morning in the garden.

Naksh was waiting for his father to arrive. When his father  arrived, he asked Naksh to look around the garden . Naksh  spotted a gardener , a bunch of young adults playing football,  an old man, a working woman who came there for a walk.  Naksh’s father said “ When u look at all these people, you find  them engaged in something, almost everyone in here has a task  to accomplish.

When we talk of the gardener, we find him making merry  around nature, among the gaudy colors of these flowers.

If we talk of those boys playing football we can conclude two  things: some of them love the sport and for them it is the  mode of escapism. On the other hand they might want to  pursue it in the future as their career.

Now let's talk about the old man. I have known him since my  childhood a books writer , sometimes composes music, had a 9- 5 job and has a jovial family.

That woman? She usually comes here with her laptop, she sits  on a bench and completes her projects while the birds sing  songs.

Everyone is working , exploring , even an old man who has  retired is trying to find things that enlighten him. My child,  this is the beauty of life. All of the people here might have  certain problems , some of them may also be indolent like you  are on holidays but if you stop working , exploring , your life  will ultimately stop. This is your life you are the one who’ll  decide and find the meaning of your life, not me and not even  your chanda mama!

Naksh had gobbled so much in himself that he had nothing to  say and seemed to be in a dilemma . He said nothing and  returned back. Later that night he was again found by his  father staring at the moon.

“What now Naksh are you disturbing your Chanda mama for ?”  “I’m asking him the meaning of HIS life!” said Naksh with a  smile bringing a light laughter on his father’s face.
