Pain Paired with Perseverance

Noted Nest

By Rishika Agarwal

A couple entered a shop, and their eyes struck on an exquisite teacup. Amazed by the beauty of the teacup, they held it, when the teacup said that he had not been as attractive as he was then. He started telling his own story to implicit that behind his glamour lies the hardships he had faced. The potter, in order to fulfil his wishes, pressurized the teacup by rolling, heating and patting him. The cup was immensely disturbed by the adversities he had to face-being heated up in the oven, rolled, painted upon, and stiffed. He had a reprieve when he was out of the scorching heat of the oven, and he yelled ‘Leave me alone’. He wanted to get out of the situation and remain as he was. He was living such a harsh life. However, the potter always tried to motivate him by smiling and saying, ‘not yet’.

At the end of the agonizing process, the stressed teacup was contented. He was proud of himself by witnessing his allure shaped by the hardships he had faced. The potter then emphasised the pivotal role of the anguish he suffered in making him beautiful.

The hardships that we are put in prepare us to feel the pride of triumph and are vital in our journey to success. Being determined and persevere, we should harness the power of adversities to thrive in life.
