My Best Friend Birthday

Noted Nest

By Apoorva

On March 2nd, I was at home in Kolhapur when my phone suddenly rang. It was Pallavi, my best friend.

"I hate you!" she said as soon as I picked up.

Confused, I asked, "What happened, Pallavi? Why are you so angry?"

"You don’t remember, do you? You forgot something very special," she replied.

I quickly looked at the calendar—and my heart sank. It was her birthday! I felt terrible for forgetting.

Without wasting any time, I went out to buy her favorite red roses. Then, I decided to make her a birthday cake myself. It wasn’t perfect, but it was made with love.

I went to her house with the roses and cake. When she opened the door, I said, "I’m so sorry, Pallavi. I forgot, but I’m here now to celebrate your special day!"

She smiled and said, "You’re lucky you’re my favorite best friend. I’m not angry anymore."

We laughed, hugged, and celebrated her birthday together. She loved the cake and the roses, and we had so much fun.

Before I left, I told her, "I’ll never forget your birthday again, I promise!"

She teased, "If you do, I won’t talk to you!"

In the end, we were both happy, and our friendship felt even stronger.
