All it takes is a moment, to turn your world upside down, to take that one wrong step, that one mistake.
Megan was no stranger to this universal fact. After all, she had been through it before, hadn't she. But she did not remember anything.
"Megan ??"
"Megan!!?? What's wrong?? Where are you lost dearest??"
Slowly, she looked around, bewildered....... "Where am I ??"
"Who are you and how do you know me "??
The man calling out to her, looked astounded!! This was the girl that he was about to marry! He had known her for all of 2 months now. Some said that it was too soon for him to decide in 2 months that she was the one. But when you know, you know, he said.
" It's me, Victor. Honey, don't you remember me, what's wrong with you?" After a troubled pause, "we are getting married today and the priest just asked you if you would take me as your husband, for better or for worse, in good times and bad, in sickness and in health!!! "
"Don't you remember anything"!! he shouted.
sickness...... sickness....... sickness.........
All she could come up with was a different face, a different man, and a different time!!!
" How can I marry you ??"
" I am married already !!!!"
"Where is Raphael?? He was with me in the car?? "
"Where is my husband!!!!"
The priest looked as bewildered as the rest of the guests.
There was a lot of whispering, and some snickers as well. "Told him so, who rushes into a marriage, she doesn't even know who she is, let alone Victor. Who is Raphael?? Where is her husband?? How did she end up in the hospital though?"
All but one person in the crowd remained quiet, tears streaming down his eyes. He had just walked her down the aisle reluctantly, the second time. Her father William Connor.
Megan looked around and spotted him. "Father !!! what's happening?" "Where is Raphael".
He looks at her and then at Victor, who has a satisfied smile on his face.
"Well Mr. Connor, it worked ". "She will slowly start remembering everything, slowly though. It will take some time."
"Don't push her to remember". " 5 years of no memories is a lot to process."
With a spring in his step, he looked at her lovingly, "you have a lot to catch up to". "But remember, I will wait for you, no matter what, no matter how long it takes. So, take your time, and then come back to me. Come back to just Victor, not the doctor."
