Loving From Afar

Noted Nest

By V. Ganesh

O moon! My musical moon,

stop hiding, stop looking at me from the wrong side.

I’m on your side, who prays for your smile,

even in a time, someone is burying me alive.

I’ll never wait for you, and for the time

Your broken heart leads to me.

rather, I’ll wait for the universe's end,

for stars to be reborn,

and you to be born for me.

O moon! How are you? How are you?

answer me, this three-word blade

echoes endlessly, wounding my heart without an end.

answer me, this silence makes me a blind man

swimming in a vast ocean of worries.

how are you, how are you?

the endless stabbing puzzles,

I’m solving, will never solve

without your friendship.

O moon! My musical moon, let me love you from afar,

hiding beneath this tree, looking through branches,

knowing how you are, how you are.

let me not drown in worries, let me swim in the reflection of your

bright happiness in the nearby pond.

What hurts most is not

Knowing you will never be mine,

But fearing I’ll always be a stranger to my own world.
