Every day when I walk through the corridors of my school, and I see a teacher passing by, I observe expressions of different students. Some afraid, some are inspired and some….well they just ignore them. But I always think about how a teacher’s journey would be? The struggle they had to go through to become a teacher, and then to overcome the challenges after becoming one. If one of their struggle ends they have to prepare for the next one. A teacher is not a person, it’s a quality. Only some special people are gifted with this quality. A job of that person to grant someone education and wisdom of life. The hard work and suffrage these people go through is ruthless. After all teaching is the best service someone can provide. We need education, wisdom and good thoughts which can steer us towards a brighter future. And thanks to all the teachers present on this mother earth, because of them many of us think of the limitless.
As I said that a teacher is a quality, qualities never die. Do they? However you try to get rid of them, little traits will remain. My mother had always dreamt of being a teacher and she could even make her dream come true. She was a teacher in a government school for 3-5 years. But still she is my teacher, my family’s teacher. If anything goes wrong she will try her best to fix it, everything she can control. I say that’s a quality of a teacher. To handle a class full of 40-50 young and notorious children is not an easy task. And teaching them and expecting and reassuring yourself that they understood every word you just said, again it’s not lucid. For some reason my mother knows everything, when I tell her something like it will rain today, she says “yes I know, it is going to rain in the evening.” Like how come she knows more than me? I know it’s funny to think that there is a person on this mother earth who knows everything, because whenever you learn something new you realize that there is more to this. “Knowing and exploring can never be satisfied”, this is something once my teacher told me. A teacher is like a second mother, she gives you teaching, manners, courage and etiquettes and what not. In your life there must be a teacher you’ll always remember, even if it was a small incident or a big one, a bad incident or a good one. A teacher who helped you to solve a problem. A teacher who helped you in preparation of an exam. A teacher who encouraged you from backstage to keep up the performance. As they say “There’s a woman behind every successful man”, similarly I’ll say, “There’s a proud teacher behind every other successful person”. Not just studies, but a teacher who supported you with your dreams, a teacher who enhanced your skills, a teacher who supported your thoughts. Be grateful that you could understand this special quality of mother earth. Who knows maybe somewhere inside you, you have that quality too. If you do, you shall use it for good and make little saplings glow higher and brighter.
It’s not necessary that teaching should be related to studies, it can be skills, it can be sports, can be behaviorism and much more. Teaching is an art, vine it through beautifully and the outcome will be just so luxurious and precious that it will help the earth grow and glow. A person who handles this art is even more precious and unique, even if they finally find peace they are remembered throughout the world and all their teachings spread around making us wanting to learn more and explore. Such a beautiful quality can’t be expressed in any more words but can just be felt, brushing through our heart like soft wind making us feel awakened from a deep sleep.
