In The Shade of Chinars

By Dr. Harvinder Jeet Kour

Here comes the season of fall,

Beautifies by the leaves of chinar,

When each fallen leaf bears witness,

To stories of love & this perpetual war.

Chinars that are centuries old,

And the beautiful traditions they hold,

Stand with their amber colour leaves,

Like the pieces of shining gold.

A picturesque view they present,

During the beautiful fall months,

When their yellow coloured leaves,

Fill the valley with Autumn scent .

Their trunks that stand with pride,

Their leaves dancing with breeze,

A phenomenal epic love of kashmir

Are exquisitely majesty chinar trees.
