In a city, there lived a 20-year-old man named Hrithik, who belonged to a typical middle-class family consisting of a loving and understanding mother, a strict yet thoughtful father, and a naughty sister. He was a B.Tech Architecture student at JK University. Hrithik was the kind of person who didn't care about his future and led his life without taking any responsibilities, like a free soul. He was charming and good-hearted. Hrithik also had a girlfriend, Hiya, who studied the same course as him. She was naive, simple-minded, down-to-earth, sweet, and understanding. As they had started dating recently, they were very loving and affectionate towards each other.
Hrithik's daily routine involved spending time with his best friend Avik and his girlfriend Hiya. One day, while Hrithik and Hiya were roaming around his neighborhood, they noticed an abandoned house that, despite its state, gave off good vibes. Seeing it, Hiya said, "Hrithik, if we ever get married in the future, let's live in this house and start our family. What do you say?" Hearing this, Hrithik paused for a moment and hesitantly replied, "Yeah... sure."
That night, Hrithik returned to the abandoned house to look around. As he was exploring, the house suddenly started glitching and vanished. In its place, a well-built and remodeled house appeared out of thin air, as if the abandoned house had been replaced with an upgraded version. Hrithik was gobsmacked by what was happening. At that moment, a beautiful woman in her late 20s appeared in front of him. Shocked, she asked, "What happened here? Hrithik! Why are you looking so young?"
Hrithik replied, "Because I am only 20 years old. Why are you asking such illogical questions? By the way, are you a ghost? How do you know my name? Who are you?"
The woman responded, "What year is it?"
Hrithik said, "It's the year 2023."
Amused, she exclaimed, "Oh my God! Is this real? I've traveled to the past! I can't believe that time travel is possible."
Surprised, Hrithik asked about her identity. She said, "My name is Taara, and I have come from the year 2033. One more thing, I am actually your future wife."
Hrithik was shocked. "What are you talking about? This is absurd. I don't believe you."
Taara replied, "I understand how absurd and illogical it sounds, but it's the truth. Come, I'll show you proof." She showed him their wedding album, photos of them together hanging in the house, and their marriage certificate. She also shared detailed information about his family and explained that after their marriage, they bought and remodeled this house.
Confused and shocked by the accuracy of her details, Hrithik said, "Okay, I believe you, but how did you arrive here? Did you time travel?"
Taara explained, "No, time travel wasn't possible in our period either. I think I must have time slipped to this year along with this house."
Hrithik asked, "How will you return to your time period?"
Taara replied, "I don't know, but I think I'll suddenly return the same way I arrived."
She hesitantly asked Hrithik to look after her. Hrithik thought, How can I take care of her when I can't even take care of myself? I don't have any money, and why should I take care of her? Hesitant to say yes, he suggested she go to her parents, but Taara said she couldn't because her parents were in America at this time. Reluctantly, Hrithik agreed to take care of her.
The next day, Hrithik shared everything with Avik. At first, Avik found it hard to believe, but after seeing the house, he was convinced. Avik suggested Hrithik take part-time jobs to support Taara, and Hrithik agreed. From then on, Hrithik started working part-time jobs.
One evening, Taara asked, "Hrithik, why don't you live with me in this house until I return to my time period?" Hrithik hesitated, but Taara clarified, "I mean for safety. I'm alone here, and anyone could break in."
Hrithik felt agitated and left. Avik later convinced him that it made sense, and Hrithik agreed to stay.
As Hrithik balanced jobs and caring for Taara, he neglected Hiya. Feeling lonely, Hiya confronted Avik, who revealed the truth. Shocked, Hiya visited the house and met Taara. Taara coldly told Hiya, "You must realize you're no longer part of his life. It's better to move on."
Heartbroken, Hiya left. Later, Taara congratulated Hrithik on his internship and "freedom" from Hiya. Furious, Hrithik argued with Taara, saying, "You may be my future wife, but Hiya is my present. I must fix this."
Hrithik found Hiya at their special place and confessed, "My future didn't change me, you did. I worked hard because of you. I love you, Hiya."
Hiya tearfully replied, "I love you too. I can't imagine my present without you."
Whether Taara returns to her time or not, Hrithik decided to cherish his present while responsibly working for his future. One must work for their future but also live in the present because that's the only way to reach it.
