Flowers

By Sri Ramya Smruthi

Let’s hold a banquet for flowers

We’ll have a ball

A grand gala for them all

Roses, peonies, lilies,

soft, white jasmines,

lavenders, like the sky,

that was once mine.

i’d like them to be decorated

Everywhere i see

I’d like them to be loved

I’d like them to love me

I would bring them night

But now they bloom for me, so bright

Let’s hold a banquet for flowers

Let them shine and glow

Let the Sun, so true, so wild

Melt away the snow

Let me love them

The way Rain loved Earth

And let me hold a banquet

And let them know their worth
