Edge of The River

Noted Nest

By Sonakchi Pradhan

I stand at the edge, where the water runs deep,

Where shadows and secrets in dark currents sleep.

The river calls softly, its song laced with dare,

A whisper that tugs at my soul laid bare.

Would I fight for the breath, for the spark in my chest,

Or sink to the silence, cradled at rest?

To dive and discover what fear keeps concealed,

To see if my spirit would rise or would yield.

Do I trust in the pull of my will to survive,

Or surrender to silence and cease to strive?

The river knows answers I’m not sure I own,

And in its cool depths, I am strangely alone.

So here on the edge, I tremble and wait,

Unsure if it’s courage or something like fate.

To leap, to discover the truth of my soul,

If I’d fight for this life, or release all control.
