Downfall at Dusk

Noted Nest

By Farhana Ansari

Won’t you show me some mercy

I’m down on my knees drowsy

It’s you that who pushed me

It’s you that who broke me

But it were you that held me

It used to be you that loved me

Those lying eyes of just lust

For you deception was must

Those nights with the shouts

And your unknown whereabouts

You pushed me down to the floor

And I walked out your door

I swear, my heart wouldn’t rue

But it used to be a hue

Now I got a heart of just grey

Between life and death I’m just stray.
