Death

'Ma... Ma... Pa... No, please please don't leave us alone... please can you hear us, pleassee!!'. The sapling  cried seeing afar the death of it's parents.

'Pa... pa.. ma... Please don't leave us dying, please, please don't die. Please, don't die on us... Pleasssee!!'.  The other sapling let out a huge cry as the far big trees were chopped down to pieces, making them fall  to the ground.

'Why... Why are they doing this to our parents... Why are they cutting them off?, they don't look like  twig pickers, who are these people?'. A painful yell was heard from its surrounding.

'what's happening, what the hell is happening around us, I don't understand... Why one would chop  them down to death, they don't look like farmers, as they would cut the branches spreaded across, but  not the big trunks... Can someone answer me please!?'. A soft sob, followed by a loud yelp was heard.

'Hey listen up young kids... Am right behind your back, behind these thick bushes, am older than your  mum and dad, but thanks to these bushes, none notices me easily. I know who they are, let me tell you,  hear me out, they aren't farmers or twig pickers, but they are just idiotic people planning on to deforest  lot of vegetation to construct a lot more buildings for commercial purposes. I have seen these  happening frequently for the last 50 years, but the gap between the last destruction and now is just six  months, at this rate, the forest would end up getting dry and eventually we will all burn ourselves  leading to forest fire... I badl...y feel w...e will all end up like that, soon!!'. The old tree treambled at its  last words and I could hear death in it's voice.

As predicted, that's what happened, after the forestlands went dry for months, the trees caught fire and  spreaded it's flames onto the next set of plants and in no time, the whole place caught up in fire, quite  far and we knew as we are soon to be burned down to death. As death neared us, the only happiness  that kept us happy inside was our baby saplings were present so far from us and I badly wish for them to  not get caught up by this fire and I was burned along with my other sapling and the old tree, behind us,  caught up in fire, changing the direction of the fire spreads.

'Ma...ma... Pa... Am burning, I can't breathe... I just can't breathe anymore... I can't run faster... I can feel  the burns on my skin... It's burning... Am I going to die ma, ma... ma... ma, please don't leave me alone...  Please ma I can't bear this... I can't breathe... I can't...!!'. The fawn died in trices.

'He was the last one, to be alive and I have left him to die alone... My baby, how much he would have  suffered alone, midst the fog of flames?. Am not a good mother... Am not... I can never...be...why did

you pull me apart from them, you know they can't run faster?'. The doe cried and yelped badly in pain as  she reached a safer place with it's male alone beside her.

'I wanted to save you from the spot... I know they can't run faster, but I need you beside me, we can  make many more fawns... You are a great mother, but am not a father at all, I tried saving them all, but I  failed miserably... Am sorry, am sorry, am really really... sorry!!'. The buck cried harder and let out a loud  shriek, in the midst of the flaming foggy fires and it sounded like death.

Few months later, the new saplings and the buck and doe with a fawn saw the whole place which was a  thick forest once, was cleared of its remains and the construction of a new set of buildings were under  development and it all felt lifeless and meaningless to them, as they felt like the pathetic humans had  killed their kids, their home and it's habitats for nothing and it didn't make any sense to them as  anything could be created out of that place. The loss was starkingly inevitable. It's maddening to see the  rapid changes it brought about, in few months of a huge stricking number of deaths. Insanely maniacs,  they cursed, as they saw the place with hell lot of pain in their eyes.

'One must wonder, what are they going to do with just buildings all over, with no vegetation or thick  forest far across?. These concrete structures would burn those humans inside, heating up the place, I  must say they definitely are pathetic idiots!!'. One of the saplings smirked looking at the fast pace  workers afar.

'The forest vegetation and the farmlands, not just brought about food to their tables but they had  helped in balancing the heat of our planet by bringing about rains across, helping them to live a happy  and balanced life. The destruction of the nature's food web, would cost them an irreplaceable loss  through climate changes, let them suffer, fools!!'. The other sapling gave out a happy loud laugh staring  at those fools Involved in the construction afar.

'I never knew the humans can be this fool or should I call them selfish, they always found happiness in  killing us back in those days, while they were out hunting, we died in fewer numbers, but they had good  morals in them, back then. Now it's utter bullshit, one must say. This is ridiculous to kill us in greater  numbers in shorter periods, destroying our homes, but they just don't see...em to... to care'. The doe  sobed silently remembering the loss of her kids and home.

'I will tell you why one must call them sickeningly greedy, that's who they are or that's who they have  become, today. Killing wildlifes would inturn affect the seed dispersals, pollination and in overall  biodiversity spreads across the globe. They knew this well, actually better than us. Yet, they don't bother  to kills us in packs and packs, just to make their lives easier or that's how they think, by spreading across  in huge land masses destroying and invading our habitats for their mere lifestyle benefits. They would  suffer just like us, one day and that day isn't far away. Awaringly, they would kill their own children, and  when they die, they all would feel helplessness as we had felt when our kids were dying in shocking

depths of pain. They are the destroyers of everything and their own species!!'. The buck went its way  along with its fawn and doe, back to it's thick dense forest inside, while the saplings were involved in  photosynthesis.

Author's note:

Nature gives us multiple chances and protects us with so many things around us, but it's us who are  failing badly in noticing them. When other creatures have learnt to understand and live by the ultimate  lesson of nature - ie., the only way to live is by coexisting with others in this planet. I feel we haven't  learnt this yet, we are actually the brainy heads of the whole lot of species this world has come across so  far and I think, it's better to act with one from now on.
