Blood is thicker than water, is that really true?
“Family’s always there for you, while friends wait for your doom.”
“Would you rather drink blood or water?” is a better saying.
Water goes down easier, and the person drinking it always has a thirst for it.
A thirst to quench, to quench their desires and motives whether innocent or jaded.
Humans would say, drinking blood is cynical and insane.
Yet, we have no real idea of what’s inhumane.
Blood runs through our veins, does it not?
Or maybe it’s the method of obtaining it, that’s more than a clot.
“Blood is thicker than water”.
Blood may bind but we may break it,
true ties are woven by the hands we choose to make it.
We may be born from the same cells,
but our heart prospers with a bond tied with our own ropes.
“Blood is thicker than water”, they say…
But some waves of the sea can wash it all away.
