Abhimanyu

By Saket Kashyap

Setting foot in the Kurukshetra

Abhimanyu didn’t know

The terrors of the turf,

He had slight intuition

What it can be.

He didn’t know the

Prowess of Pitamah and Guru.

He didn’t know the

Cunningness of Shakuni and Shashan

Set his foot under the clouds

Which were to rain the arrow.

Set his foot on the ground

Which were to be inundated with the blood.

The boy could see the vultures

In the sky and on the ground.

One was eyeing at the food

The other at the land.

He came and set his foot in the Kurukshetra,

And fought so brave

That will be remembered till the Yugant.

Even after knowing certain death

The Abhimanyu fought for the Dharma.
