On one particular day, there was event being organized in the national
capital while the invitees where talking to each other about the
schedules, while organizers of the event where running from here and
there to do last minute checks to ensure that there’s no error at the last
minute, even as everything was chaotic, a young girl entered the
premises of the event, everyone’s eyes went on that girl. Those in the
crowd looked at her with pride and happiness, even as she was about to
meet her ideal, she could hear a bell go...wondering what it was, she
decided to turn back and she turned back, everything was blur...
That ringing sound was nothing but an alarm bell which woke her up,
what all she saw was only a dream. The ringing alarm bell served as a
reality to her that she needs to get back to her own life and strive back
hard, she took it hard and thought she’s not meant for those good things.
Even as her mother readied her tiffin and her father dropped her to the
bus stop, she was in deep thoughts and as she boarded her bus, her
long journey to her college began. Even as she boarded bus, train in her
long journey of hers to reach, she was quite reflective of what had
happened in this particular year.
This year was quite turbulent for her as she was getting accustomed to
new things in her life, be it getting back to college after a long period of
time or her recent book launch which had a poetry collection. She
expected some support from her near and dear ones, however things
didn’t go as well as she expected, but her parents stood by her and
supported when she needed that the most. She got a lot of support from
her faculty where she was studying. Even-though she was motivated
from the very kind words of her parents and teachers, something which
kept going was her ideal’s speeches and the struggles that person in
particular went through.
As one of her lectures got over, she was sitting in her classroom, writing
two or three lines:
“Time is racing ahead of us
But we are not healed yet
The Wounds of the past still haunt me
Wounds are so fresh that they keep pricking us like present
It feels like never-ending
Time is racing ahead of us”
Even as she wrote the poem, she had tears in her eyes and was heart-
broken over the events which had transpired with her in the recent past.
Nevertheless, she held herself up and attended the rest of the lectures
and was heading her home. As she boarded public transport, her faculty
called her to inform her something, she said “Hello Anandita, Firstly
congratulations! Your hard-work has paid off and you’re being
facilitated at a mega event in the national capital next week!” Yes,
she was Anandita, a young girl with the courage and creativity. Despite
of whatever she faced in her child-hood, nothing could break her spirits
and she emerged stronger than ever.
When she reached home and informed her parents about this, they were
elated and emotional for her, she also felt emotional about this because
she really longed for this day when her work was recognized.
One week later, the d-day arrives. On the event day she reached the
venue on time, she headed to the main-hall she could see invitees were
talking to each other and the people who had organized the event were
doing last minute checks to ensure that everything is fine, she felt that
this is the same thing which she saw her in dream and it didn’t feel like a
reality. One of the closet person to her ideal saw her standing in the
corner, he took her to her ideal. Her ideal was busy talking to some of
the invitees and as he saw her, he kept gazing her with utmost
happiness and pride, she rushed to meet him. He exclaimed “Anandita,
I’m so happy to see you here! You’ve made all of us proud! Despite
of all the adversities thrown at you, you’ve come so far! We all are
proud of you!” He blesses her!
Meanwhile Anandita who was over-whelmed by her ideal’s appreciation
on her, breaks into tears and thanks him for supporting and being
inspiration as always, as the event progressed and as her name is called
to receive the award, she came to the stage and spoke a few words “A
big thank you to my parents, faculty and organizers of the show
who have supported and lifted me in their appreciation and respect,
thank you for being with me when no one was there, thank you
once again” after this she left the stage and everyone clapped for her.
After the event ended, she gave signed copy of her book to all esteemed
guests and her ideal and since her book got a lot of great promotion,
many purchased her book and her poetry collection garnered lot of
appreciation for which she was happy and content, as she did really well
in her academics, she also started focusing on her poetry and stories
more with a pledge to herself to have trust in timing.
